2009 - Press Release Letter
What a wonderful welcome we received from the St. Joe employees and a delicious brunch in the Atrium of the hospital. Their mission statement, "We serve together in Trinity Health, in the spirit of the Gospel, to heal body, mind and spirit, to improve the health of our communities and to steward the resources entrusted to us." Our Pink Ribbon Trailblazers mission is similar by the thought that we are helping to improve the health of uninsured women in Oakland County. Barb who attended our presentation when Jack Weiner was out of town, stressed we need to help those in our community, all monies we earn via our event stays in Oakland County.
I hope the pictures help you to visualize the compliments all the Pink Ribbon Trialblazers committee people and the Pink Ribbon Trailblazers volunteers received in the presentation.
Suzanne Ardelan told the story of how she heard about the PRT and her part in raising over $800 plus a few checks before the event itself.
The look of surprise on everyone's face when Dein held up the large $18,000 cardboard check was priceless. We will also be receiving a check from the perioperative services at the Alice Gustafson Center's yearly basket auction in honor of Dr. Kirby and Dr. Goodman. A woman who just finished her breast treatment with St. Joe will be sending us a check also. Her husband's boss will contriubute the profits from the sale of camera bags from the Camera Bug store on M 59 and Telegragh. John and Maggie Williams, owners of a Curves in Birmingham, gave us a check which came from the initiation fee of members for the months of August and September. Paint Creek County Club is participating in decorating in the Always Christmas trees , business,,etc.

2008 - Press Release Letter
The Pink Ribbon Trailblazers had a very successful second year. We presented a check for $10,800 to St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Breast Health Services in November, 2008. In 2009, that 'Money for Mammograms' will be used on two or three Saturday mornings at St. Joe to have a breast exam and a free mammogram. Despite the rain and the rain and the rain at our event, we were blessed with participants that came regardless of the weather. I'm grateful for all the people who sent checks to the PRT even after the event.
Our check presentation was held at the Atrium part of the hospital. Our committee people who attended were receive and congratulate for a job well done by hospital staff. In two short years, we will enable 230 women to receive free breast health care who would have no other options.
Please look at our website, www.pinkribbontrailblazers.com to enjoy some of the pictures taken at the event and a few from the presentation.
We are expanding our horizons to another website plus the original one.. Strictly by accident I read about a new website from the Costco magazine of all places. This website is called Make The Difference Network, www.mtdn.com. Jennifer Biel, an actress, and her father, Jon Biel partnered with a Costco member named Kent McBride.
This site features fully vetted nonprofits and enables visitors to donate or sponsor an organization and see the progress it is making. All donations via Pay Pal go directly to us. This network hopes to link nonprofits such as us with individuals and businesses looking to help smaller organizations. When our website is complete which it will be by the time you read this, we will have a link from the www.pinkribbontrailblazers.com to the new website, www.mtdn.com/sixthone.html. Please take a few minutes to check us out. Seven of our committee people are breast cancer survivors. I can tell you it is so rewarding to give back to those who have helped you recover from breast cancer. Please join us.

2007 - Press Release Letter
The Pink Ribbon Trailblazers are gearing up for their second annual "fun'draiser on the Polly Ann Trail. A stroll, walk, 5k run, and 20 mile bike ride will take place on September 13. We are a non-profit organization that is recognized by the State of Michigan and are waiting for our 501c3 certification by the IRS.
Last year we presented a $14,040 check to help many women receive a free mammogram. Our goal was to help at least 30 women, yet we had enough funds to pay for 130 mammograms! Thank you for your participation and checks last year. A woman who walked with a cane last year came up to me before the event started; "I'll be here every year that you are here." Please join us for such a worthy cause.
A special thank you goes to Bob Hazzard who set up our Pink Ribbon Trailblazers website. Please visit our website: www.ctredeemer.org/trailblazers.htm. You can print off a brochure or look at pictures from last year. There are brochures and cover letters available in the vestibule.
John Lines was so kind to video some of our committee people along with Sue Yun, Breast Health Coordinator at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. This video will be shown on Orion Neighborhood Television (ONTV), Lake Orion (Comcast), Public Access Channel 10. For viewing times (yet to be determined),check the website at: www.oriontv.org. The title is "Money for Mammograms." At the home page, click on "Public Access", then click on "Program Guide". When the credits roll at the end we dedicated the film in memory of Linda Stanis, a committee woman who lost her fight to cancer on August 16, 2008.
See you on the trail!
