The 1st Annual Pink Ribbon Trailblazers Stroll, Ride, Run "Fun"draiser
We held our first successful event on August 4, 2007. It was a 5k run, stroll or a 20 mile bike ride on the Polly Ann Trail in Oxford, Michigan. For every $108 raised, we could provide a mammogram for an underserved woman in Oakland County. Our original goal was to raise enough funds to sponsor 30 mammograms at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, Michigan. Through the generosity of friends, family, businesses and caring individuals, we raised enough to fund 130 mammograms.
It was a no frills event! We wanted all money raised to fund mammograms. There was no stage for our beautiful survivor speaker,
Monique Anthus, to share her story, but her message was clear - Mammograms save lives!
